Breastfeeding is a very personal journey. For some, it flows easily from day one. For others, it is full of challenges, adjustments, and small victories along the way. No matter how it looks for you, one thing is clear: the “right” length of your breastfeeding journey is the one you choose.

I have breastfed three times myself and I know how much support, planning, and the right tools can help you keep going, even when life is busy.

Here are a few tips that made a big difference for me, along with some small tools we have created to make your breastfeeding journey smoother.

💛 Make it easy on yourself

Breastfeeding takes time, and being relaxed helps both you and your baby. My go-to for feeding in public without stress? Our Nursing Cocoon. It gave me the freedom to breastfeed anywhere and later on to pump at work or in the car so I could keep my milk supply up. Comfort and confidence go hand in hand.

🧼 Keep things clean and ready to go

One of the biggest struggles when pumping or storing milk is the constant cleaning. Our Yummy Clean Set is a lifesaver: you can quickly wash your things wherever you are, even in a tiny office kitchen or a hotel bathroom.

It makes it so much easier to clean your pump parts and bottles on the go, so you are always ready.

🍼 Store your milk smartly

When you pump, it is important to freeze and portion your breast milk efficiently.

Our Yummy Bag and Yummy Tray are part of a complete milk system designed to store, freeze, and portion milk easily without wasting a single drop. The less time you spend figuring out logistics, the more energy you have to keep going.

💬 Get support even at 3 AM

Questions, doubts, or small worries can feel bigger when you are tired or on your own. That is why we created the Breastfeeding Buddy, our AI chat tool on the Baby on the Move site. It’s there 24/7 for practical tips, emotional support, and answers about anything from going back to work to safely freezing milk. You can find it in the bottom right corner of our website.

Here are my personal golden rules:

  • Drink enough water, seriously, keep a bottle next to you at all times.
  • Do not be afraid to combine breastfeeding with pumping. Do what works for you.
  • Take growth spurts into account, your baby will want to drink more often, and that is okay. Listen to your own instincts.
  • Ask for help when you need it, whether it is a lactation consultant, a friend, your partner, or family.

The beauty of breastfeeding is that it is yours to shape. Some days will feel effortless, others like a real challenge, but with the right mindset and a few practical tools, you can make it last as long as you and your baby want.
